Semiconductor laser, also known as laser diode, is one of the latest achievements in the development of semiconductor physics in the 1980s. They are various in all kinds, including infrared and red light with long wavelength, and green and blue light with short wavelength. These characteristics can be used to expand the measurement range of and improve the measurement accuracy. Besides, semiconductor laser adopts low voltage constant current power supply mode, low power failure rate, so they usually comes with safe use and low maintenance cost. At present, the number of semiconductor lasers occupies the first place in all lasers, some important application fields, has been gradually replaced by semiconductor lasers.
These advantage enable the design of our semiconductor laser rangefinder module to be compact in size, light in weight, and comes with good reliability, long working life, and low power consumption.
However, semiconductor laser rangefinder module are limited in long distance measurement due to its own disadvantages in stable performance in range remote targets. Fortunately, the more stable laser rangefinder module series, based on erbium glass laser, are then successfully developed with great effort in the following years. With a wavelength of 1535nm, they are capable of ranging both small and large targets such like building, vehicles in a ultra-long distance of 20km.
Furthermore, the antenna optimization for the erbium glass rangefinder module has been completed and verified, reducing the length of the range finding antenna to less than half of its original size, with the shortest antenna measuring ≤18mm, which is a significant mile stone of technological breakthrough in Eyoung’s development history.
